Max Hold Sport Scalp Protector Dab-on or Brush

An antiperspirant dab-on scalp protector built for active wearers. Reduces sweat and extends adhesive hold during sport and physical activity.

Max Hold Sport is Walker Tape's solution for active hair system wearers who need their bond to hold through training, competition, and anything else an active lifestyle throws at it. The dab-on format gives you precise, targeted application directly to the scalp before adding your adhesive, controlling sweat at the source so your bond stays strong through the session.

The antiperspirant formula reduces scalp perspiration rather than simply creating a barrier over it, which is the key difference from a standard scalp protector. Less sweat means less moisture working against the adhesive throughout the day, particularly important in Australian summer conditions, humid gyms, and outdoor sport.

Who should use Max Hold Sport

Max Hold Sport is for wearers who train regularly, work physical jobs outdoors, play sport, or simply sweat more than average. If standard scalp protectors improve your bond but do not go far enough, Max Hold Sport is the upgrade to try. It is also worth using on days when you know conditions will be demanding, a long outdoor event, a hot summer day, or a heavy training session.

Benny’s Notes - Max hold sport has been personally tried and tested by me, A hair professional with over a decade of experience  and a hair system wearer for several years to see if it holds up to Australian conditions. Reducing the risk of sweat breaking the bond down is a no brainer in Australia. My go-to for scalp protection when installing mine and clients hair systems. This is always a staple in my personal and professional hair system maintenance kit at the barbershop.

Pairs well with

GhostBond Platinum - the ideal adhesive partner for active, sweaty wearers who are after long hold times

Walker Tape Ultra Hold Glue - adds an extra layer of hold protection for demanding conditions

Walker Tape C22 Solvent - for effective removal of bond residue

FAQs

This is one of the most commonly asked questions we get! The answer is it is up to the wearer. In my experience, tape is easier for self install and removal. Glue is best for prolonged wear (3-5 weeks). I personally use tape more often than glue as I change my system frequently and prefer the freedom of doing so without a big clean up. My advice would be to try both options and decide what works best for you.

Both are water-based adhesives made by Professional Hair Labs,
but they're designed for different conditions. Supreme is the all-rounder - strong, comfortable, lower shine, great for most Australian wearers in everyday conditions.
Platinum is engineered for oily scalps, heavy sweating, and high humidity. If
you're in a tropical climate or sweat heavily, in my experience, Platinum will typically
outperform Supreme.

Yes - GhostBond as well as ultra hold glue is commonly used on lace, poly, and mono base systems. For lace systems, apply adhesive directly to the scalp only.
Many wearers use a combination glue at the hairline and tape around the perimeter of the system for the best balance of security and natural hairline appearance.

Yes - C22 is safe for all common hair system base types when used as directed. Apply it to the bond rather than soaking the system, as this can lead to the hair drying out and rinse thoroughly after the residue is removed.

A typical removal session uses 5–10ml depending on the area
covered and the type of adhesive used. The 118ml bottle gives you roughly 12–20
removal sessions; the 350ml gives you 35–70 sessions. If you're a professional
doing multiple clients, the 350ml is by far the better value.
